Date: 1st of November, 2018
Venue: StAeg, t Zand 37, 3811 GB Amersfoort
During this public discussion meeting, researchers can share their views with the president of the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) and others about Plan S, which is meant to accelerate the transition to open access. NWO was the signatory to the plan on behalf of the Netherlands.
After 1 January 2020, scientific publications reporting on the results of research funded by the signatories must be published in open access journals and on open access platforms. The European Commission’s Open Access Envoy, Robert-Jan Smits, argues that this must also be the case for EU-funded research.
NWO president Stan Gielen will explain the plan and discuss concerns, issues and possible solutions with the participants. The input provided during the meeting will help in the search for a workable roadmap to open access.
