With increasing societal plurality, food is employed to mark boundaries between distinct cultural and religious identities. Food is a vital matter, and the question how, what and with whom to eat is often mobilized in nativist discourse and anti-immigrant (and often anti-Muslim) sentiments. Focusing on the relation between food and religion, the speakers in this roundtable address issues arising around food matters in plural worlds.
