Our Work Package on missionary collections in the Netherlands (as part of the NWA research program Pressing Matter) will host Gaetano Ciarcia (see IMAF – Institut des mondes africains – CIARCIA Gaetano) on June 20, 14.00-17.00 in Utrecht. His Le Dahomey cérémonièl (both book and film) unfolds a highly original perspective on a missionary legacy we discuss too rarely: missionary cinema, in this case the “Dahomean” films of Father Aupiais SMA.
