On 4 August, Birgit Meyer was awarded the Stewart Hoover Mentorship Award from the International Society of Media, Religion and Culture (ISMRC) at the occasion of its biannual conference, held at the Center for Religious Studies (CERES) at the Ruhr Universität Bochum. As the ISMRC could not meet for some time due to the Covid-pandemic, she received this award alongside with Stig Hjarvard (University of Copenhagen).
